Michael Flannery Catering Supplies Ltd commits to work with all our customers and suppliers and stakeholders in promoting and implementing Responsible Business Conduct.


As a fully Irish owned, family-run, SME, Michael Flannery Catering Supplies Ltd recognises that although we trade as a small company, we can make a large impact by being aware of our corporate social responsibility and responsible business conduct.  
As a business, we impact communities and resources so taking these steps to sustainability is in the best interests of the environment, our company and our customer.
We have created a Corporate Social Responsibility Policy which encompasses the important values that we adopt in order to contribute as a responsible corporate citizen within our community. We aim to be the local employer of choice.


Our team at Michael Flannery Catering Supplies Ltd are also passionate about reducing our environmental impact and increasing our sustainability and we are demonstrating this by enacting our ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System. We are always eager to identify and research environmental, sustainable and socially responsible practices.

We have undertaken the following steps and measures for now and into the future.

  • We ensure that we are fully compliant with all current legislation.
  • We have employed an internal auditor to assist and support us with our implemented ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 systems.
  • We have created a Corporate Social Responsibility Policy which states our commitments to play our part and how we intend to implement and measure these commitments.
  • Our entire team supports and runs fundraising events for two major local charities that are close to all our hearts, St. Francis Hospice and LauraLynn Hospice. We also sponsor a local youth football team and a junior GAA team. We also sponsor a number of golf classics for Stewart’s Hospital & Applegreen/Jack & Gill Foundation.
  • We always conduct business with integrity and respect to human rights.
  • We provide employees with a safe, secure and healthy working environment, as per our Safety Statement and Policy.
  • We chose our courier DPD/GEO based on their environmental credentials using only bio-fuel in their trucks, EV vans and their commitment to reduce their commitment to reduce their CO2 by 2030.
  • We have set objectives and targets to drive improvement plans and to regularly review our environmental performance, as per our implemented ISO 14001 Environmental Management Commitment Plan. We also have a Transport Plan.
  • We are registered with WEEE Ireland (Membership No: IE 01050 W)
  • We are registered with The Producer Register Ltd.
  • We carefully chose a waste disposal company in 2010 to dispose of our waste materials. That company is AMPM/Key Waste who are a fully licensed Dublin based company that secured ISO 14001 environmental accreditation in 2005. As a company, they reflect our commitment to improve our environmental performance and social responsibilities and values.
  • We recycle our packaging waste with Panda Recycling in accordance with EU Packaging Directive 1994 and the Waste Management Act 1996. Panda Recycling (Waste License Reg. W0140-2) is a registered service provider with Repak.
  • As per our Waste Management Plan, ISO 14001 Environmental System and our list of Policies below, we confirm that we have the experience and knowledge for the below points; The prevention of waste, including procedures for sorting and disposal.
    • We monitor our water usage and have put into place a program to reduce our usage of water by staff awareness and alterations such as dual flush toilets and auto stop taps.
    • Waste management, including hazardous waste, monitoring and traceability Documentation.
    • Minimising the environmental impact of transport, delivery and storage of products.
    • Staff training on environmental aspects, and supporting management systems to minimise waste, and maximise the reuse or recycling of packaging and / or other waste and ensure safe disposal.
    • We source and work with manufacturing partners that reflect our commitment to improve our environmental footprint and social values and we have included in our Environmental Policies.
  • We do audits and site visits to all our major key suppliers.
  • We are always looking for ways to be innovative, either through the products that we supply or by our daily business and operational practices. This involves problem solving to finding better and more economical ways of doing things.
  • We encourage and motivate our staff to partake in our commitment to reduce, reuse and recycle. Some of these measures, but not limited to, are as follows:
  • waste management, energy and water usage reduction,
  • transport and supply chain efficiency,
  • reduction in packaging and plastics,
  • Corporate Social Responsibility Policy,
  • end of life product recycling,
  • working from home and Bike-To-Work Scheme,
  • reduction of paper usage such as e-dockets.
